Thank GOD the Advertising Agencies I work with don't have a DS.  Otherwise, they would not need me.

 

But since you posted your wide ranges of offerings, I am curious about a few things.

 

Is both Creative Off-line and On-Line Finishing done In-House?  If so, by the same cutter?

 

Are your Creative Teams ( Writer / Art Director combos ) forced to work in-house or can

they go out of house at their own choosing?  Does budget play a factor in this?

 

Do the Creatives get to choose their own "In-House" editor or are they assigned one?  Can they bring in an

outsided editor?

 

My other experiences with "In House" post is that the post staff becomes the "House Band".  The creatives don't feel that their particular projects always get the special attention and creative bent that they might otherwise get out of house.   

 

Conversely, the post staff tends to take things for granted knowing that they will probably have a gig even if they don't razzle and dazzle on every job.  If you are working for the same client day-in-day-out, it can sometimes feel like

assembly line work.  How do you prevent this?

 

Are jobs "budgeted" or limited to number of hours or can it take "as long as necessary" to make the best

spot possible?  ( Deadlines aside, of course.)

 

Do you employ Directors and have a Production Company "In-House" as well?  If not, do the outside Directors

get to be involved in the post and to what extent?

 

Does it ever get so damned cold in Michigan that you wish you had an outside vendor in say....beautiful, sunny Florida who could also provide DS | Nitris post during those brutal blizzards and winter months?

 

Sorry.  I just see that great list of clients and wish they were available to the free and open market where we toil and brutally compete daily from 8am 'til almost midnight and work most weekends.   Tisk Tisk
