If your hardware converter can go from 720p to 1080i 59.94 than definitelly
use it to digitize the material with. You will need to determine the
processing delay of the converter and adjust your record bias in VTR
settings accordingly. The audio will come in out of sync unless your
converter can process embedded audio or unless you have an outboard audio
delay.

The off speed quality is unpredictable. Most likely the Varicam material is
at 24fps. You may want to remove the 3:32 pulldown first, apply the speed
change and then reapply the 3:2 pulldown back again.

Thanks Ken. I do have the hardware converter, I just haven't used it and
wanted to make sure I would be able to spit out a 1080i 59.94 signal from
it. We will be using the same hardware for the offline, so I'm just trying
to get some piece of mind that I can get the cut to match.
