Has anyone tried using the HUGE Systems 1.6TB Media drive as an
alternative to DS media storage using the Atto SCSI card controller?
We tried mounting the Atto card onto our HP XW8000 so that we could
mount the huge systems drive but the system, but it seems that the
card isn't compatible with DS. It only displays the LSI SCSI
controller card, which is the local scsi controller of the DS.
Also, since the drives of the avid media dock are limited to 173 GB
SCSI, would it be possible to just purchase 12 units of 500GB drives
and replace the old 173s? Since they're SCSI, don't you guys think
that that would work since technically they have the same
configurations? Or does avid put a special chip onto the drive and
reconfigure its mechanics?
