Especially considering that the standard def Symphony no one has had to spend a penny on for the last 3-4 years is worth the same amount?

It doesn?t seem right.  Especially if it?s on the same CPU with the same storage.

Well is very strange to think about to trade in a 140K DS Nitris and put money on top to get a 85K Symphony

The trade-in prices vary depending on what system you are trading in.  However, I can tell you that the 5K trade-in that John posted is incorrect.  It is an ADDITIONAL 5K trade in.  Ryan?s scenario is more in line with a trade-in (different systems vary) so you should contact your reseller for prices in your region and in your currency.  There is also a new competitive system trade-In as well.

Hi Marianna,

It is refreshing to know that someone from AVID actively monitors this list.  However, John posted a link to the AVID website verbatim and I feel that the subsequent posts are quite justified.

I have been singing the praises of AVID lately, but this really gets my BVD's in a wad.  I feel that some marketing minion might have Inadvertently added the word "Nitris" to the trade in offer.

Perhaps they were targeting older DS users like my former self.  I happen to know all too well the trade-in structure from a private reputable source, and this ain't part of the plan.

Please escalate this matter immediately and correct the AVID website trade in offer.  Also, please confirm the following list prices for 2 AVID products with same storage.

AVID Symphony Nitris $85K, AVID DS | Nitris $140K. ( In US dollars )

We all anxiously await the benefit of your reply and this request to correct the innaccurate website offer. You don't want to get this list of loyal DS users / owners too miffed.

Regards,
