You probably already checked - just in case.
On the deck, select "audio in" & then select F6 (PCM) to make sure audio settings are correct.

Make sure the deck is set to 24 bit, Set-up>System>F/F4

Check to see if the DS is actually outputting all 8 channels. What happens if you route ch 5,6,7,8 into channels 1-4 on the deck?

If all else fails - toss it off the highest mountain & call your insurance company. ;-0

Hey Marc,
You & your engineers probably already looked, is tab C on the tape turned. That was my problem when I couldn't get 8 channels onto the tape. Easy oversight.
Sorry I could not be any more help,

Yesterday we tried laying off 8 channels of audio to a D5 machine. The same
D5 I captured the 8 from. The machine would only see 4 channels. When we switched the controller to an SR controller, we had 8 channels. I made a new
D5(3700) controller, and tried again. Same thing. We have an excellent engineering staff and they went over the D5 for an hour. Still no channels 5-8.

I've done a ton of work a various facilities doing 8 channels of audio, and as for the D5, I haven't seen this issue. The Sr used to have this in 7.6, but qfe2 fixed that.

Any ideas? Or is this something so simple I should go see an Eye Doctor?
