So there we were
with our new HDCam SRW-5500s and ready to print to tape on 12 channels
of audio - BANG! :'(
- DS thinks not - how 'bout 8 channels Mr. Customer?
Some may say... but DS only has 8 channels of I/O. To that I would say
- Don't I have a choice of which 8 I want to use, or how about a
multichannel layback to 12 channels using external audio sources as I
print the DS material?

Auto identifying the deck
Monitoring deck conditions for servo / time code problems during
capture and print.
Interface to allow setting up the VTR (TBC settings) from the DS
Capture menu and storing those settings in the DS per clip captured.
This would allow machine to have exact settings on recapture - how cool
is that?
