So, what does the Options : Field or Frame processing and Precision selections in the Processing Options menu one gets when you press P do? Is it just an override of the Sequence Prefs?

Hi Jon,

Auto means it takes its precision from either the Sequence Preferences or
from any effect which is below it (or before it if in a tree).

So you don't need to change anything :)

Subject: processing clips question.

hey everyone,

I have sort of a newbie question about processing clip effects. All my
footage is SD and captured at 10 bit. The processing settings in my sequence
preferences are set for field and 16 bits. When I add a clip effect and go
into the options the precision setting is default to auto. So does that mean
the clip effect is going to look at the sequence preferences and process at
16 bit? Or do i need to change the clip effect precision from auto to 16
bit? If thats the case is there a way I can do that globally instead of
opening up each effect?

thanks
