Fixed it. I think it was a combination of a corrupt
ummd_consumers file along with another computer on my network with the same ip
address.
Thanks for the help,

OK, that sounds like the index file may be corrupt - have you tried to delete the ummd_consumers file then restart the indexer to let it rebuild?

E-Mail Majordomo(at)Softimage.COM with the following text in body: unsubscribe dsIt's the correct password. The media indexer starts, just not the project indexer. The password is the same for both. I also can't force start the project indexer from the Services menu. If I put in an incorrect password and attempt to start the service, I'm notified of the incorrect password. If I enter the correct password the project indexer simply starts and stops.

When you're in the services page - right click on the indexer and look at properties - check the logon tab - that's where the username and password ! is for the service.Richard Torpey

Any change to username or password? The service is set to us! e the DS login name and password - if either is changed the service won't run.Richard Torpey

E-Mail Majordomo(at)Softimage.COM with the following text in body: unsubscribe! dsJust to let anyone interested know, I got the Huge system up and running today. I captured and output 10Min's of 1080i 59.94 10bit with real-time color correction added.! Seems to work great. Total price was 10k for 4TB.
Since starting my Huge Systems drive test I've been getting the "missing project indexer" error that can't make go away. I checked all the normal stuff like Static ip. The one thing I did notice was the ummd_roots date was older then the last time I ! used DS along with the ummd_consumers date. I remember this being a symptom of a missing project indexer but not how to fix it.
Thanks for any help,
