Hi Ed -
Just tried basically the same thing, and the only time I got any softness
was when the HD shot was slightly out of focus. On an HD monitor it looked
fine, the SD downconvert looked great, but the "close-up" of the HD on an SD
timeline looked soft. Could this be the problem?
