Hi Jon,

Who are "they"?

And while you were looking at the Phony Nitris how did the quality of HWRT effects compare to those effects when processed?  And if you really could be bothered to drive yourself crazy attempting to build a semi-decent composite on the thing, how long would it take to process?

Regards,
Tone :)

Subject: OT: DS future question at Symphony demo

Hey everyone,

I just got back from a Symphony HD demo at the avids office in Daly City CA.
I'm pretty sure you dont want to hear about that but I did ask specifically about the future of DS. The response I got was "Its going to be around a long time and has solid backing". Also expect version 8 in Feb 06. They also mentioned that they are trying to be more competitive with discrete products so that leads me to believe they will continue to develope th DS.
