I just LOVE this statement. This ALWAYS means, "Oh, we will actually wait until NAB!"
It seems to me that for the past few years that when Avid says they will have something within a 4 to 6 month period before NAB...they just wait until NAB.
So, in other words...wait until NAB 06.

I'm pretty sure you dont want to hear about that but I did ask specifically about the future of DS. The response I got was "Its going to be around a long time and has solid backing". Also expect version 8 in Feb 06. They also mentioned that they are trying to be more competitive with discrete products so that leads me to believe they will continue to develope th DS.
