 Not the best way to get max performance from your new drive.
With IDE both devices on the chain run at the speed of the slowest device.
CD/DVD drives generally run slower so can drag down the performance of the
new drive.
Better to have both HDDs on one chain (one master one slave) and keep the
other IDE chain for CD/DVD burners etc.
Also for best results make sure your drive is 7200rpm and not an old 5400
rpm.
