Another conform nightmare

30 minutes of stills and quicktime animations offlined on Adrenaline. Some 200 stills used from a collection of 4000. Halfway through offline the client decides to go 16:9 not 4:3.
Files have been moved around and organized on the server; these changes have been updated to the imported files in the offline. Some animations are done in 4:3, some in D1 anamorphic, some in square. Each have been imported accordingly.
Now please.
The AFE transfer ignores the new updated and relinked locations of files, giving only the original path. The Composer isn't even aware of the original paths any longer, but that's what's stored in the AFE.
And I need all the stills linked; but after the initial linking fails on 50% of the files, I CANNOT RELINK to the files manually - my only option is "recapture". WTF?!?
And the DS ignores all the aspect ratio settings used in the offline; why? If you've already told the machine that a clip is PAL 16:9 square pixels, why does this info not transfer in the conform?
And why can the DS not recapture a file with another aspect ratio once it has been imported???
Total conform my donkey!
