	Well, yes...10:1 should give you uglier results than uncompressed	
	(which is what's happening here) but there should not be any fundamental 
	difference in the way the effect itself is generated...

I guess I would say an expected way.  It is the issue of glows, rays, 
etc. looking one way at 10:1 and quite different in 1:1.  Some tweaking 
is often required.  Not any body's fault in my book.
