Tagging (was expressions and graphics)

You're right, expressions would have serious implications for increasing the efficiency of spot tagging and versioning, and that could be a a very good thing.

 

Speaking of which, who's using what procedure for tagging run approval compressions over the net? Many times (for us) the only things necessary are the slate info and the final 5 seconds. What scripts/hardware/software do you use to automate capture and encode? I'm casting about for good solutions.

Expressions in the graphics module would have some seriously cool uses for slates. One I can think of right now would be inserting a date variable so that slates always had the current date on them without having to manually type it. This would be an excellent automation feature for situations like tagging multiple spots.

Hey all, I'm just getting into the expressions (we just upgraded).  I'm wondering if the following could be done using expressions.  If it can be, cool...if not, might be a future release request?

 

When we do promos here there may be upwards of 50 spots printed to tape.  What I'd love to be able to do is create an _expression_ that would advance the text applied to a "slate" one (1) digit at a time, i.e. 1111111, 1111112, 1111113, etc.  There are times that I spend more time creating slates and timeline items than actually tagging a spot multiple times.   

 

Whatcha' all think?
