AFAIK, that is just to make the video in a window in the DS interface
work on the HP wx8200 with the new and improved video card that
stretches the display across 2 monitors and causes dialog boxes to pop
up in the gap between the monitors - similar to the way it was back in
version 3.

I was told that you need to activate the Avid DS profile in the Display
properties under the advanced / configuration tab, to get the
workstation to properly use 3 GB of RAM.
