OK I figured out the problem it was in the preferences menu the background was checked.
I guess I just needed to ask the question and look like a jerk to find the answer myself.

Subject: 3D Titling
I've created a 3D title on a black layer (alpha to 0)
once i bounce out of my 3D title to work with my layer in a composite container the title
that i created is see threw. I play around with alpha in the 3D titler and then I just get
a solid layer text with a black box around it all, (acting like alpha turned off where it's turned on)
What am I doing wrong here?
How do i get 3D titler to just output my text normal, recognizing the true Alpha of the text?
