Re the idea of relocating the DS suite to resolve hot drives.
I've been looking at an option to move just the drives and use a U320 to Fibre bridge to convert to Fibre and then run to the xw8200.
this would mean having a fibre board in the DS instead of the native SCSI but presumably this is the same as DS on Unity?
One of the bridges I'm looking at is: http://www.attotech.com/fbridge2400c.html
which can sustain 440MBper sec.
