It does 3D DOF if your 3D rendered sequences from a 3D package contain
depth information. Otherwise it does not automate DOF. You can manually
animate blurs on individual layers. Maybe there's something in version 4
that automates this process. The great thing is that if you have a
decent Open GL card your previews are 100% real time and look pretty
good.
