The cache material cannot live without its original master source, thus you cannot archive them separately.
 
I guess you might want to check the multi-tape archiving workaround posted on the Avid knowledge Base:

I’m trying to archive the HD video to one tape and the HD caches to another tape.. but I can’t just select the video caches without select the video too.. Is that correct? Any reason to be that way? I can not make all fit in one tape, but is I just can archive video to 1 tape and caches to another tape, then is OK…
