For the archiving process, the clip's data,
the original master media and the caches are all linked together for this
process. It's by design.
If you want me to elaborate on the internal
mechanics of the code, that I can't explain... :(

I already checked it.. it is a bit complicated.. Hope next ver. of DS can archive to multiple tapes… would be very useful for long format or very intensive postproduction jobs.
What do you mean that the cache can not live without the original master source. I can render a segment that have an effect form start to end. Erase the original source material, and as long I don’t want to change anything, the render will still play and be valid.
