Yes. You really appreciate DS when you decide you need to add
additional audio tracks to your existing captures. ;)
It's a give and take. You certainly get exponentially more for
your money out of the Apple stuff, which is a good thing since you need
to spend some of that money for the extra plugins and goodies to
complete the jobs. On the other hand, if you are doing heavy
compositing, then you have to use After Effects on the Mac. But
wait -- it has a nice 3D enviroment... You get my
point. Nothing is perfect. There's workarounds no matter what.
My new gig will be FCP/Madison Media Software on side by side
systems. We have the new Kona cards with FCP on the new
dual CPU dual core Macs and also have Final Touch color correction with
the outboard surface controls. There will be many little things I
miss from DS, but I'm guessing I will be much happier overall.
Time will tell.
Have a great weekend, one and all.

I agree with all these posts...
thanks Jeff... Glad you feel as I do, although it does work once you
spend
a long time learning, like all tools....
I was really shocked when I found out the workaround for recapturing
just the
shots for a particluar sequence only...!! Man... what a zoo that can
be....
really makes you appreciate ds eh..!!
