I might suggest you "learn FCP" and therefore, you will not hate it.  It is what it is, does what it does at an amazing price point.  There are MANY insided tricks to the box that once mastered will eliminate 90% of the problems that most users have.  Oddly, many are contrary to what the books says.
 
It is simply not fair to compare the 2 platforms.  FCP is an awesome editor, great for off-line and some basic finishing, but DS rules the roost beyond that. 
 
Like has been said many times on this list....Horses for Courses. 
 
Not picking a fight, but I hate it when people bash FCP before they have put the same time into it as any editing system.
