Welcome to the Avid DS forum and don't be a shy person! Nobody's English is perfect either (even from those who speak the language... Ahum!).

Hello Chan-Won and welcome to the DSList, I would definitely agree with DS Artist.

PS> Any chance, we can set up a Restaurant in Switzerland that would sell “ Poutine”…?

J

Puisque ce met plait aux Québeçois, pourquoi pas aux Suisses?

Hi, all DS users,

Let me introduce my short DS experience.

As an old salaryman avid MC editor in Geneva, i started DS 3.0 since year 2000.

We bought this tools after the DEMO Show in Switzerland, because it was cheaper than Smoke

and we(Freeproductions) have all equipment with Avid systems(compatibily!).

But it took really long time for me to understand how to work with this tools, because i was

only one DS operator in Geneva, some editors doesn't wanted try this tools because it looks so difficult for them.

But me, i had to do some challenges with this lovely machine.

i remember several long nights at the Post, because so many things to learn and discovering wonderful tool!

Some editors around made me tired, because they talked about FCP,

they said about expensive for DS, complaining nonsense, etc...

Here we work a lot of 'Corporate' and TV which is demanded a lot,

because DS is an amazing operating system.

I can edit quickly, composite quickly, 3DVE, Graphics tools(lovely Brush/Clone and tracking!!!) and unlimited imagination inspired!!!

Reading everyday Avid DS forum helped me a lot, since last 3 years...

That's why i really thank whole DSusers who shares an answers and presets and immediate helping.

Merci Montréal!!! Vous êtes une superbe équipe et je suis avec vous jusqu'au bout!!!

I didn't write a lot in the forum, because of my bad english and i preferred to call in Germany for on-line help.

Now we have 2 DS 7.6, two more DS operators.

When i show waoooo quality with HD, a lot of people opens their eyes and the mouth for long moment...

Here in switzerland, people are slow and Tranquille!

Anyway, i stop my blabla...

I have just one simple question.

Actually, all the DS users are now generally called DS Artist and some of collegues are asking

what is this domain?.

It seems that DS are well known in America and Europe.

But DSusers has several name of statues like, DS Artist, DS VFX Artist,

DS Operator, Special FXtor, senior editor or crazy editor, etc...

I think it is more more than editor!

The clients don't choice the operator who do only editing or only color correcting or only special FX...

We, DS user are really virtual artist painter.

That's why i need to precise the Domain name.

Professional name: *DS Artist for sure?*

Thank for reading my mail.

Merry X-Mas and happy end 2005!!!

Best Regards.
