That makes a lot of sense, thanks.  Once I find the option for reference
select I can test this.

But:

I'm also having problems inserting on an SRW-5500 (this is another copy
of the same show, and we have to do inserts on both DVCPRO and
HDCAM-SR).  When I try to insert audio and video, the video comes over
fine but the audio (from AES/EBU) gets all corrupted and crackly.  Any
ideas?

Thanks for all your help on this, guys, we sometimes feel all alone
doing DS and HDCAM-SR up here in Boston. No one else seems to deal with
this format.
