Hey John:

I LOVE DS, however, if the vision of the future from your boss is to
have a shared media pool environment from Avid DV to Adrenaline into
Nitris to on air playback - well DS does not play well in this
environment. It is sad to say that NITRIS cannot work in this
collaborative environment seemlessly. This is probably what is
driving the move to PhoneyNITRIS, because NITRIS cannot live in the
collaborative work place of shared media to air. YES, NITRIS can take
the shared media and use it, BUT ONCE TOUCHED BY NITRIS you cannot go
back to other systems, including the play to air.

I was sad to see Avid take the fragmented approach they did at NAB
when Mojo/Adrenaline and NITRIS were introduced. This action was the
death toll for DS NITRIS. Avid should have made EVERTHING ELSE
compatible with DS NITRIS, but they did not and we are in the
predicament we find ourselves today.

I truely hope Avid does not turn their backs on DS NITRIS, for if they
do some 4,000 plus systems are up for grabs, and Avid will not hold on
to these systems or talented artists that use them day to day.

Again, I LOVE MY DS NITRIS - I hope Avid does as well . . .
