Schy,
I'm offended that you don't want my secrets of
deletion. As a bonus I might have even thrown in secrets of
recovery. And if you act now, secrets of archiving before deletion
to ensure some form of recovery.

I’m starting to look at this issue using a “cooking” metaphor. (The chef doesn’t want to give their trade secrets away)
That said I am still a firm believer that this DS user list is one of giving and support. In keeping with that thought I would love to learn from the “master chefs”. Many of us are “islands” working in our own little world and don’t have much opportunity to bounce ideas off each other. This list and NAB could be a possibility of advancing our skill set and consequently also the recognition from producers that the DS could be the “go-to” box if the operator (chefs) knows how to make their project sizzle.
Having met many of you and worked with some, here are my questions I’d love to see shared in a open forum.
Todd I – When do you use the DS for compositing vs. other tools
John S – When you don’t have a De Venci how do you do those amazing power windows on DS?
Sean S – When do you use layers vs. trees vs. timeline and why?
Victor – Your process you used to do “last job” that you put on the DS list.
Bill A – How is DI work in your work flow?
Howard – What is the best way of putting a DS room together to work and play with others? (avid gear and non)
Tony C. - Where is the good beer spots in Vegas?
Spencer – As a compositor what are the other tools you use and why?
Tom P – What are all those cool presets on your desk and how can I get a copy?
Mark Mc – How is that shared storage working in your space?
Phil – Signed A-Z and which are the biggest “got-chas”.
Lucas – When you moving to your next job?
Tony J.– Read my mind because you give me the answer before I thought of the question.
Tristan – How can I use Expressions and scripting?
Theses are some of things I believe could be shared without threat, and would be of great encouragement to each of us in assurance that we are doing it “the right way” and hopefully bring away some inspiration.
More to come and a Yolies signup in the new year.
Cheers.

I would pay good money to hear you talk about the new features in the new 3D Environment, the non-marquis based graphics tool and to go over the many source generators and particle generators added to the effects folders.
Thanks Tone! This will be swell.

There you go...
Here's your "statement"... If Tony's talking about it at NAB 2006 then surely Avid MUST be fully behind the continued progress of our beloved DS!

Hey guys,
For those of you attending NAB in 2006, what would you attend a seminar to hear a talk about? I've been asked to throw some ideas forward, and I thought it made sense to just ask with no strings attached what would make you pay good money just to hear me and others waffle on about something DS related.
We've covered trees, expressions, color correction, workflow enhancements, keying, DI and more over the last couple of years and it would be good to hear what issues new and old users alike would like covered.
And no, I won't be talking about Phony Nitris? only the real thing :)
Cheers,
Tone :)
