Well, Thanks everyone for replying.
My solution was to do what everyone else did...except I kept the original. I was concerned that all my edits with this piece would have to be recut...even though I'm sure the new clip with same tape & timecode would have replaced the old one.
Thanks for making me realize it was not just me!!
