Select Clip.
Place position marker where you want the clip to end ( or start) and then...
Page Up = Snap In
or
Page Down = Snap Out
This works only if the clips have enough head frames or tail frames to be trimmed

His background layer was the longest duration compared to the shorter duration clips on the other layers. I seem to remember that with one key stroke (or so it seemed), he was able to make all clips conform to the same duration as the background layer. Usually I trim them all out by hand.
Do any of you know how to accomplish this slick little trick?
