Title: Harddrives
Underneath the Compaq labeling what are they??? If there are Compaq labels stuck over the original labels you can remove them GENTLY using a hair dryer to heat them. You should be using U320 or U160 RAID "0" on Avid storage.

One drive that will work well is the Seagate 146 Gig 10K RPM U320 SCSI Cheetah but there are rules you must follow that are interdependent with the BUSSES on your particular PC and how they are being used and what SCSI hosts, fibre channel adaptors etc you have.

If the Rack mount for the Proliant drives has dual SCSI connections and is U160 or U320 it could probably be made to work but would be "Unsupported" by Avid.

Hey all,

We have some drives sitting around at one of our facilities.  They are Compaq Proliant ML370 rack mountable drives.  One of our new IT guys seems to think they are Avid Certified drives that we could just throw on our DSs or our other Avid.  I don't believe this is the case but I wanted to check with the experts.

Anyone ever heard of these drives?

Thanks in advance.
