We got it solved here by putting the Wacom in the machine room.  We find that we get the desired behavior from it if we keep it isolated from computers and electricity. 

 

To help matters we installed the Logitech M RAG 07 hand conforming blinky laser sliding adjustable screen activeness position indicator.

Hi Guys,

Remind me - did we ever come up with a solution for the "Wacom stops responding" issue?

It used to happen to me occasionally in my last setup, but now with 2 five metre powered USB extenders it happens every minute or so.

Waggling the mouse always makes it spring back into life so it's not a disaster - just irritating.

If there's no cure then I'll just live with it.
