Hi again Ed,

The drop-in replacement for the original DS monitors is the Viewsonic P225f or fb [black] and it has gorgeous pictures on a 21" diagonal CRT screen. It has a tighter dot pitch than the older monitors and great contrast and color. They are out of production but I see them NIB on the internet for around $200-$300.

Subject: DS Edit Monitors

Hello;

We have recently come into ownership of a DS Nitris editing system running V7.5.  The used system came without editing monitors and I will be needing to install this system, soon.

SO, I was wondering what everyone's favorite monitors are, these days, for the edit monitors (NOT the output video monitor).  I assume it would be best to get ones that match the resolution of the video cards, especially if they are LCD monitors, right?

Also, is anyone out there running a Nitris on a single, widescreen monitor?  That is the way we run our current Equinox V6 and our older V4 systems, on big 24" Sony CRT wide-screen monitors.  Then we do not have to watch the mouse bounce from screen to screen and it takes less space on the desktop.  If anyone else is doing this with a Nitris, what monitor are you using?

Any help would be appreciated.  I am sure I will have TONS of other Nitris-related questions, in the next few weeks.  Can't wait!

By the way, this is my first message sent via Gmail.  So far, at least for reading the DS list messages, it's GREAT!   Much better than Outlook, for sure.

Thanks,
