Subject: Re: 2nd time! Vegas on
DS??
Howard,
I ran Vegas at the SAME time as DS and allowed it to render in the background
(actually several different instances). Seems my DS ran smoother when
Vegas was running. :-)
I could actually play out of Vegas via SD-Connect to capture SDI in DS on the
same system with no issues. (But my preference was to play out of Canopus
Edius). Vegas is great for compositing and file conversions, and it's the
absolute best at mixing audio. But, it sucks for PTT, so I usually write out
files to PTT in other programs.
Vegas also works great with DS reference files. Use AVI when leaving DS,
and then render out to QT uncompressed when leaving Vegas to bring back to
DS. Video levels are seamless bouncing back and forth. Just set
your scopes in Vegas accordingly (as DS uses YUV full out form 0 to 255).
Hope this helps,
td

Hey,
Everyone has been on other subjects and that is good but I still
need to chat with anyone that is running Sony Vegas on their DS workstation.
[Not at the same time as DS of course].
Anyone???????
Thanks,
Howard
