Hi Rick,
Concerning questions 3 and 4. The literature for the
HP XW8200 series points out that you may not be able to burn a DVD with the
system in certain configurations.
Anyone know the hack or workaround? I believe it has to do
with XP and its artificial limitations on your ability to copy programming to a
DVD. Is that true?

Subject: 4 Quick Questions and a Ponderance
Hi to all and thanks for the recent help with my Live Mike issue. (
Especially Mark )
I just keep saving up questions rather than one at a time. Thanks for
any input.
#1 There was a recent thread about missing graphics
typestyle preset error message.
Can't find the old thread.
Basically, I opened my project with 30 x :30. Each
spot had testimonials with lower
third name supers. Probably about 100 or so.
Out of those, 6 of the name
supers had the error message during opening of seq.
Simply had to re-load type face
info. but it was annoying with that many spots.
Was there a remedy for
this???
#2 Need to get O and O Defrag again. Anyone have
the link? I only had the old free
version on my old 3.01 box. ( Or
is there something better I can buy for De Frag)
Any Gotchas?
#3 < Insert stupid question here >. It looks
like the CD / DVD drive that came with
my wx8200 is a DVD burner. But I can't
burn DVD's. ( For Data ) I can burn CD's OK.
Do I need Nero or something or is it
just a DVD Player and CD Burner?
#4 If it is not a DVD burner. Can I just plug an
external one into USB? What
is a Down and Dirty software that
I can use which won't pose a conflict with DS?
I recall a recent thread with suggestions.
Final thought for discussion and advice. < Ponderance >
Wow with all this storage (1.75 TB)
and strictly working on Standard Def, I have gotten
pretty damned lazy with my
workflow. Used to work Low Rez for Ruff Cuts and Re-Dig
Hi Rez for on-line. Seems I
have just been working Hi-Rez all the time now. I really
need to re-think my rate
structure regarding Off-Line and On-Line. Any thoughts?
My clients are comfortable with
one rate for "creative off-line" and one for "finishing".
( Realizing that rates vary by
market / country etc.)
Kind Regards,
Rick at
nakedeye
I realize I
should know these simple things rather than all the words to the opening
theme
songs of
shows like Gilligan's Island and Green Acres. "Farm living is the
life for me......."
