Title: RE: DS feature requests

Well not to encourage staying behind in the times, but even if DS has no future, it can last a long time until other competitor`s products suit our needs. Maybe in a year or 2, there will something similar to the DS made by someone else. There is no need to go to symphony, I wouldn`t.

Objet : RE: DS feature requests

You'd think that Avid would want to have a properly conceived effects programme, rather than leave it to Autodesk and Apple.  I saw Symphony Nitris at a Demo recently and it was pretty underwhelming, just another Avid.  It was even dropping frames on the demo material.  I don't know why Avid corp. isn't interested.  Unfortunately the only real alternative for my company is Symphony (due to the MCO offline online route) so Avid will remain smug and happy, at least for the time being.  I feel a bit pissed off because I've spent a lot of the last two years learning DS, and our company was sold DS as the future system.

If Avid can't even be bothered to respond to our request for information
about DS's future then I'd guess that it's a waste of effort asking for
        feature enhancements....

It's now nearly 2 months since the request was made (24th November) and not
a sniff of a reply to date.
