I am onlining a project for a feature film that is being
shot on HDCAM. I just wanted to confirm the actual workflow that the whole
process should be taking.
The offline is being done by another editor on FCP at
another facility. They are going to be working from cloned down-converted DVCAM
tapes from the master into an SD sequence.
They will provide me with either an EDL or and OMF from
Automatic Duck for the conform. I will be creating a sequence that will be 1080p
25fps and then importing the EDL/OMF into that. Is that going to work as the
offline was an SD sequence? I guess that I’ll just have to resize things.
Is there anything else that I should be aware of or to look
out for? This is my first HD project so I want to make sure that I have all the
bases covered before the offline starts so to not look like a muppet with the client
or the other editor….
Any advice would be well received.
