Pay no attention to the hecklers.  I am aware of the "sport" although I don't currently participate - I have a number of friends that have it as a passion as well.  When you go to NAB there is a fun little "treasure" hunt a little ways outside the city limits of Vegas - I can get you more info if you're interested.

Geocaching – using GPS for a sort of treasure hunt game.  Caches of various sorts are everywhere.
