Hi Kean,
This has been covered many many times on this list - the last time was two
days ago.
You MUST wait for the media indexer (UMMDS.exe) to finish indexing before
launching DS. When CPU usage from UMMDS drops to zero it has finished
indexing. This can easily take 20 minutes or more on a busy DS with many
projects and a large amount of media.
Assuming you follow best practice and leave the DS workstation powered
24/7 then this should rarely become an issue, but it is important that you
are aware of it.
If UMMDS CPU activity never stops then it is possible that you have a
corrupted file (either a media file or the UMMDS database). In that
instance you should consider opening an issue with Support.
Regards,
Tony
