Subject : RE: UMMDs.exe questions
Seeing as so many people have a problem with the wait for UMMDs.exe to
finish to launch their DS. (for many the that don't have the option to leave
their DS running 24/7)
It would be nice if there was a slight modification to the DS applications
launch.
Maybe a check on the progress of UMMDs.exe and an avisory to wait till it is
complete. With the option to continue if required or wait and lauch when
ready.
That way an operator could lauch DS after startup and leave it with DS
completeing it's launch upon UMMDs.exe having finished.
Wouldn't think it was a very big job to do. Could even be a completely
separate applciation that then calls DS.exe
Of course the real answer (for single machine outfits) is for The media and
project indexer to save the status of the indexing uopn exit and re-load
that at startup (just like MC does) and thereby save all that re-indexing
time. An option to kick a re-index would solve those times when media is
moved outside DS.
I always think it such a waste to watch our DS re-index all the same stuff
in had indexed the day before!
