Subject : Using a backed up DS installation
Hello

We recently updated our DS to 7.6 (from 7.5), but due to a problem with our license file we are stuck with a non-working DS.

Before doing the 7.6 update procedure, being pessimistic I've done a backup of the entire C drive using the built-in windows backkup utility. I've never used this function before, even less on a DS system.

My question is...
Could I restore the 7.5 installation to another drive (we have a spare 9 GB SCSI drive), boot on that drive and work until all issues with our 7.6 installation are resolved?
Would using the bult-in SCSI controller (compaq w8000) to boot windows and operate DS create any problem with the system?

I'm going to try it, but if someone tells me positively that it won't work, i'll just let it go.

thanks!
