Title: Re: General announcement to all Avid DS mailing-list participants !
You would think avid would want to keep all our “rants” about the decline of DS on a mail list and not on their site....but that’s just me.

Yep.. probably this is a response to our claims and not to a virus…

Maybe this is part of the response from Avid - if the people on the list demand to know too much... Make the list go away!

I thought we took a poll on this not too long ago, and it was overwhelmingly in favor of maintaining the mail-list format. Is this all part of Stephen Harper's new conservative agenda?

Hello everyone,

Due to recent events with the Avid DS mailing-list and its fragility regarding virus infections and mail distribution stability, I have taken the decision to migrate this service to the more robust and secure environment of the Avid Community Forums.

The Community Forums on Avid.com already includes an active list for Avid DS. I encourage you to open an account and participate.

Over 35,000 users have joined the forums since their launch November 2005. With volunteer moderators in all forums, there is a strong focus on resolving problems and working with peers.

You can register for the forums at http://www.avid.com/exchange/forums <http://www.avid.com/exchange/forums>

If you want to preview the Avid DS forum first, you can view posts at http://www.avid.com/exchange/forums/34/ShowForum.aspx <http://www.avid.com/exchange/forums/34/ShowForum.aspx>

Please join the Avid DS Nitris forum in the Avid Community Forums and offer your knowledge and help to the current participants.  We can regroup our forces and keep a dynamic forum in a single location.

The DS(at)Softimage.COM mailing-list will remain opened for the next two weeks, after which it will officially close.

I’m looking forward to seeing you in the new forum!
