The DS-L is being killed. The Avid-L is not being killed. What message do we
read in that?

This is an end of an era!
I feel saddened that a well functioning (maybe too well) community that
I belonged too for 8(?) years now is killed. Avids wants to bring higher
end editing to the masses and to do this they need dilluting the small
scale elite feeling between DS users. Sad. I allways concidered DS users
as the spearhead amongst Avid editors, which also can be confirmed by
comparing the level of knowledge at some other Avid lists/forums.
Specialization and expertise are strangely enough not seen as assets by
Avid, which I belive is a huge misstake.
