The Avid-L always was and is an independent group, not run by Avid. In the
last year or two it became a poisonous morass filled with ugliness and
trolls. The core users decided to abandon the original -L to start a fresh
new one, much as we are doing now.
BTW, I notice that some folks are posting to both the Softimage list and the
Google list as we go through this transition. Probably a good idea, but
those of us that have signed up with Google and remain on the Softimage list
will get duplicate messages... Hey isn't that what started this whole thing?
:-)
Also, I would like to add my .02 in support for Sylvain. I don't blame him
for not wanting to spend his time supporting a finicky email server...
Selfishly, I'd much rather have him spending his time supporting us!
So, time marches on, and so do we.
