Subject : Why an Email List???

Someone else on the lists posed the question so here is a response:

I have been on the DS list since the first few months of its existence
or at least as soon as I became aware of it. Our first system was a V
1.0 upgraded in delivery to a 2.0. About this list's benefits:

It saved us money in our original tooling up for ADAT audio. We
co-developed the RAMSA audio option
It saved us a lot money when we bought additional storage about 6 years
ago
It saved us money when we purchased hardware upgrades
It saved us money when we got free software upgrades

It is faster for help in most cases than calling Avid
When Sylvain or Michel or Jean-Marc have provided input it has always
been excellent and very much quicker than Avid support.

This is where we made the contact for purchasing our second DS a few
years back.

This list has probably had a $80,000-$100,000 impact on what we have
spent to keep our DS systems going.

Can anyone else see why the list is a VERY good thing?

Ciao!
