You can do this by branch selecting the bone root (making sure the geometry
is in the branch also) and going to animate - skeleton - duplicate symmetry.

I am modelling a wing and I have it rigged and enveloped all perfect..

how do i mirror it with weights in tact to the other side (symmetry?)
