What distro of linux are you using? From some discussions on XSIBase
it may be glibc related. Someone (sorry can't remember who) running
gentoo (bless them) found it was fixed by using the fedora glibc
instead of the standard gentoo one. Though I've got to find out how to
do that properly. I completely broke my gentoo by just overwriting on
of the particular libraries (the threading one I think was the one the
issue was tracked to) with the fedora version.
I might get adventurous again and find the proper way to switch glibc.
