Thank you Kim,
I did what you wrote, but it didn't change. The simulation works, but the scale (from 0.001 to 1) doesn't appear in the simulation...

It doesn't sound like this is the problem but it's worth being sure it's
eliminated. When using dynamics and caching on hair there's a very strict
order of events that should be followed when rebuilding the cache because
hair isn't very good at working out what it's rest pose is:-

Go to start frame
Set cache mode to read/write
Clear cache
Reset dynamics Playback, or go to last frame.
Set cache mode to read only.

If you don't do this you're guaranteed to get kicks in the sim.

Subject: Hair dynamic + scale operator

Hello list,

I'm tryingto make some growing hair (hair scaleop animated) with some dynamic applied (simple gravity atm). (The object is envelopped with bones.) It doesn't seem to work : Hair animated scale alone works, hair dynamic alone works, but both at the same time doesn't work.

The strange thing is if I switch from Hair/Collision Type/ "Exact Slow" or "Average Sphere" or "XSI Fast Rough", it does compute a good result on the actual frame. But it loose it on the other frames.

I tried moving the scale operator under Modeling/Animation/Shape Construction nodes with no success. I Tried "Reset Dynamics" "Clear Cache"...

I wonder if I didn't miss something...

Any ideas ? Thanks in advance...
