Ok - a large cube surrounding the light with fast volume effects seems to work as does  the pass way. I notice I have control over volumic shadowing in the light shader but by applyimng the shader to the light you knock out the light controls for shadow/falloff etc.

I'm doing the old stained glass volume light gig. Looks nice but takes way to long to render for a volume light so I thought I would see what "fast light effects" could do. Having gleaned precisely sod all from the manuals and the archive at soft appears to be broken when you try and search I am stumped as how to get it working properly. The fast lens effect applied to the camera enables the glow option (woohoo) but stars, volumics and the like I cant get going.... What fundamental point am I missing
