Stopping Custom property ppgs from popping up

Hi All,

I want to stop the ppg from opening when I create a custom parameter
set I'd like to prevent it from popping up. Is there any better way
than modifying the user preferences and them returning them to their
initial values? Didn't appear to be any option in the AddProp function
for this.
