If I constrain to a cluster, the null jumps to the center of the cluster instead of the point I would like the null to be. I wonder if you could create a cluster for each point of the poly and then do a constrain to N points? It would be very tedious to set up.

around a bit but I have the feeling If I knew the right term to call it I
could find how to do it. I need to constrain an object to a specific point
on an enveloped poly mesh. I am using the snapping tools to get a null on a
spot on a poly face. I have tried using a constrain to cluster with
compensation but it starts offsetting when the envelope moves. How is this
done and what is the proper term for this?

if i understand correctly you should constrain the object to cluster, but
	not use compensation
